Our planet is home to a plethora of interesting places to visit. Visiting different places on each holiday season that we have must be very exciting. Every traveler seems to have their own reasons when it comes to choosing their most favorite tourist destination. Some people choose to go to the most beautiful beaches in the world in summer to enjoy a very relaxing time or to soak up the sun. Some other travelers choose to visit the peak of a mountain to have a more private vacation with their family. If you are looking for unusual holiday plan, you might want to visit Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, California this season. What you see in this beach is nothing like any other view that you have in most other beaches on earth. Started with a big mistake made by human as we made this area a giant trash can in the past, nature has come up with a beautiful way to reclaim it.
The History of Glass Beach
It was all started in 1906 when the surrounding area of the Glass Beach was considered as a giant trash can for public. At that moment, the local people threw almost anything in their disposal to the sea. This public dump was home to almost all kinds of garbage such as old cars, appliances, batteries, bottles and cans as the local people have them all thrust over the cliffs into the Pacific Ocean. Surprisingly, the dumping activity has become contagious. Not only that it was done by the locals, we could see this harmful activity in many other sites along the coastline This bad habit was taking place for many decades before it was considered illegal in 1967. We began to realize our sin to the ocean and managed to control the dumping activities. Before the damage to the nature become more severe, a number of clean up programs were initiated.
Now, years after the initiation of the clean up programs, Mother Nature has shown its significance in reclaiming the area of the beach. We can now see tons of polished glass onto the beach deposited by the pounding wave action that took place for many years. As far as you can see the coastline on this beach, millions of pieces of glass sparkling will be your main sight. In addition to that, you can still see the remaining of the earlier life on a rusted spark plug. Each time you visit this unusual island, it is quite often that we are tempted to take some of the glass for souvenirs. However, you need to understand that such act is highly prohibited. Every visitor should leave the glass on the beach so that our children and grand children will have the chance to enjoy this excitement.
The area of Glass Beach is now home to an array of interesting sea creatures including mollusks, crabs and a large number of aquatic plants. Poking around the tide pool and witness the busy little world on the shore could be very fun and enjoyable.

Day trip to Essaouira from Agadir
A 3 hours drive from Agadir takes you to the medieval-looking town Essaouira, formerly known as Mogador. The authentic medina is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Before arriving in Essaouira we stop for a nice view of the white city and the Atlantic Ocean. A first visit is a picturesque harbor where in the morning fishing boats unload their catch of the day and where the fish is sold by the bid. There is still a small wharf where wooden boats are built. A walk on the Scala with its bronze cannons rewards you with magnificent views over the harbor and Mogador Island. The walk continues over the city walls where you get an overview of the Medina with its narrow streets and white houses with blue shutters. The Medina is home to numerous art galleries, handicraft shops, workshops where carpenters make the finest objects from the thuja wood, souks of spices, silver, and precious stones. Also worth a visit is the Mellah which is the Jewish Quarter in the northern part of the town and the museum Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah which holds a collection of old crafts, weapons, jewelry, musical instruments, carpets, and beautiful silk costumes. Taste the fresh grilled seafood in one of the local restaurants at the port or the medina and have a walk on the beach or a camel ride before heading back to your hotel in Agadir.

The Dades valley Excursion
Departure to visit the beautiful Dades Valley starts in the lush oasis of palm gardens in Skoura to visit the Kasbah of Ameridill. In this valley are cozy villages and fortifications with graceful towers. We then drive along the Dades Valley, one of the most picturesque roads in the south of the country also called the route of 1000 Kasbahs.
Things to do in Skoura (Dades Valley):
A visit to the valley of the Dades starts at the fertile oasis of Skoura which is characterized by a beautiful palm grove. In this valley are charming villages and fortified buildings with decorated towers.
Around Skoura you encounter a surprising amount of roses cultivated against the verges. They are of the kind “Baldi,” a pretty strong-smelling rose. From the leaves, rosewater is produced in a factory in El Kalat M’gouna, where there is a rose festival in April.
The oasis of Skoura has a few notable clay buildings, set against the beautiful backdrop of the High Atlas. Above Skoura, on the left side of the road, stands the 17th-century Kasbah Ben Morro which is now restored into a hotel. Another impressive kasbah is Kasbah Amerhidil, which was owned by the Glaoui family. From this kasbah, there is a magnificent view of the river. Further to the east lies Ait Abou which is constructed in 1968. The building consists of six floors and 25 m high walls.
Valley of Roses and Dades Gorge Excursion:
Departure from Ouarzazate towards the palm gardens of Skoura to visit the Kasbah of Ameridil.Later, we drive along Dades valley, one of the most wonderful roads in Southern Morocco, it is also known as the road of 1000 Kasbah. We continue our journey to the Valley of Roses and drive off-road for about 20 km to reach the Dades Valley where we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, we visit the Dades Gorge and have a one-hour walk in this amazing valley admiring special rock formations which look like monkey fingers.
Late in the afternoon, we drive back to Ouarzazate.
