The Koutoubia Mosque

The Koutoubia Mosque is the highest musjid in Marrakech. Its pretty tower was completed in the twelve century throughout the reign of Khalifa Moulay Yacoub al-Mansur. The musjid is really older than the tower, but had to be reconstructed because he was not correctly facing to Mecca. The tower located approximately three minutes walk from the renowned Jemaa el Fna. Sadly, it's not open for all public guests because it’s still an place of worship, but you can enjoy their fascinating design from outside, especially at sunset. The tower is seventy seven meters high and  visible through the previous city. The Koutoubia Mosque has inspired many magnificent towers, like the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower into the capital of Morocco.
